Churros With Chocolate Sauce


Introduction:

These Spanish and Portugal fried pastry dough snack served with hot chocolate make a perfect snack and a dessert.


Ingredients:

150 ml water

20 g sugar

40 g unsalted butter

110 g flour

2 eggs

½ tsp vanilla extract

50 g dark chocolate

25 g sugar

120 ml milk

4 g corn starch

10 ml water

1 tbsp powdered sugar

1 tsp cinnamon powder


Method: For Churros- In a pan add the water, sugar and unsalted butter. Bring it to a boil and add the flour. Mix well for the dough to form and absorb all the water. Remove it from heat after mixing it for atleast 2-3 minutes until the dough is smooth. Spread the dough across the pan making a hole in the middle. Leave the dough to cool for 10-15 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time. After breaking in the first egg mix the egg well, it will take some time for the egg to mix with the dough but keep folding the dough. Once the first egg is mixed in the dough should start coming together within 5-7 minutes. After breaking the second egg the dough will take longer to mix together. Now add the vanilla extract and keep mixing the dough till it doesn't stick to the edges of the pan (this step can take up to 12-15 minutes). Add the dough to a piping bag and add an open star nozzle to it. Cut a little piece of butter paper and pipe the dough on the butter paper so that it easy to fry them. Heat the oil well and fry the churros one by one until golden brown. While the churros are in the oil mix together the powdered sugar and the cinnamon. Take them out and remove the access oil and immediately coat them in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. For Chocolate Sauce- Mix the cornstarch and the water together in a cup. Now, in a pan mix the milk, sugar and the dark chocolate. Keep on constantly stirring the mixture. Let it boil. After it starts boiling add the cornstarch mixture. Mix it on the heat till it starts to thicken. Once it gets a little thick remove it from the heat. Serve hot and Enjoy!
