Introduction:
A sweet roll served commonly in Northern Europe and North America. Its main ingredients are flour,cinnamon, sugar, and butter, which provide a robust and sweet flavor.
Ingredients:
• Dough
1. 1 cup milk
2. ½ cup sugar(Powered)
3. ½ cup butter (melted)
4. 1¼ tsp yeast
5. 3½ cups flour
6. 1 tsp baking powder
7. 1 tsp salt
• Filling
1. ½ cup brown sugar
2. ½ cup butter (softened)
3. 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
• Frosting
1. 4 tbsp milk
2. 5 tbsp powdered sugar
3. 2 Tbsp butter (melted)
4. 1 tsp vanilla extract
5. 2 oz cream cheese
Method:
• Dough-
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the warm milk, sugar and melted butter.
2. Sprinkle the yeast evenly over the milk mixture, stir well and let sit in a warm place for about 10 minutes until the yeast starts to bloom.
3. In another bowl, mix in 3 cups of Flour and baking powder.
4. Make a well between the the flour mixture and pour in the yeast blend, combine well until a dough is formed.
5. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, until nearly doubled in size.
6. Remove the plastic wrap from the dough and add the remaining flour slowly while kneading it into a clean dough surface. You can also use more if needed. Keep kneading it until the dough just loses its stickiness and does not stick to the surface or your hands. The dough should be very smooth and spring back when poked.
7. Roll the dough out into a large rectangle, about ½-inch (1 cm) thick. Fix the corners with a bench scraper or a spatula to make sure they are sharp and even.
• Filling:
1. To make the filling, in a medium bowl add the brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and milk together. Mix it well and add in the sugar at the end.
2. Spread this filling evenly over the dough.
• Rolls:
1. Starting from one short end, roll up the dough into a log and pinch the seam closed. And make sure you roll the dough very tightly.
2. Using unflavored dental floss, cut the log into evenly pieces, about 1½ inches (8cm) thick. Place the cinnamon rolls in the prepared and greased pan, 1 in the center and about 5 around the sides. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place for 35-45 minutes, until expanded by about half of their original volume.
3. Preheat the oven to 350˚F (180˚C). And Bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
• Frosting:
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and whisk until runny.
2. When the cinnamon rolls are finished, let cool for about 10 minutes. And Drizzle the frosting over the cinnamon rolls.
3. Serve warm or cold and Enjoy!
